USA should instead of celebrating 250th should apologise for the genocide of indigenous Americans and compensate for the hundreds of years of torture and displacement. America was built on lies and on the blood of African slaves. there's nothing worth celebrating. instead mourn .

Check today's Democracy Now and the interview with a Cherokee podcaster, telling the real reason why the Revolution happened. Very interesting.

Adriana, I just watched Democracy Now! and no story, so I'm removing the link:

Democracy Now! — June 30, 2026

Here is the interview. The full story is in the podcast but you can have an idea of what really happened.

Eight score & one years ago #WethePeople were granted a “New Birth of Freedom,” and it flourished for the decade-long period of Reconstruction before the intransigently racist domestic terrorists of the Ku Klux Klan criminally CURtailed it. Read &/or Watch #ToKillAMockingbird again to gain some GUMPtion in our Ages Old struggle (no fighting!) for Equal Justice under the Law.

SCROTUS just opened up the taps for unlimited Big Money to flow into the two corporations, Republican and Democrat, that control our rigged (s)elections.

This money will be used to even more effectively oppose any candidates more interested in representing people's real values and needs in elected office. Ironically, since a huge percentage will be spent on attack ads on the media owned by a few rich people, they'll get a lot of that money BACK!

What to do, right?

How about "Don't Mourn, Organize!" https://Peoples-Lobby.Org

If the Democrats were to win back the White House, would they exercise the powers over federal agencies that the Supreme Court just gave to Trump, or would they follow the case overruled, Humphrey Executor? I think they would follow Humphries Executor because it was correctly decided in the 1930’s. It is not in their DNA to fight to win and they will not regain the White House for that reason. And if for some strange reason they did win and tried to use these new powers, a new case would end up in the S.Ct. and the Court would say that the case decided in 2026 giving Trump all these powers was wrong and reinstate the holding of Humphries Estate. The exercise of power to their Political ends justfies the means. The Democrats have had their heads buried in the sand for many years and that is why they lose. Even the four who won (Carter, Clinton, Obama, and Biden) refused to exercise such powers that Trump has used even before his recent victories in the S.Ct.!

Pass a bill to expand the Court and re-balance it to be more like the Warren Court (1954-1969)... As was done just after the Civil War to provide one seat per judicial district.

How?

Apparently the only way to stop Trump is to support the kinder, gentler corruption of the Democrats.

That worked so well with Biden that we got four more years of an even worse Trump.

Who could have possibly thunk that more of the same could have led to more of the same?

The bottom line is if you keep voting for big money candidates (Republican, Democrat, third party or independent) you will keep getting big money legislators.

These big money legislators will only pass legislation that primarily benefits the big money interests so there is no way that they will pass any legislation or constitutional amendments that will get the big money out of politics in the next 10-20 years as they have had 50 years to do so and they haven't done it.

All the lobbying, protests and efforts to try to get them to do so will be nothing more than pissing into the wind as they have already told us they will not do what we want when they took the big money.

What we need to do is demand that politicians do not take big money by demanding small donor candidates and enforcing that demand with our votes in 2026. If there are no small donor candidates on the ballot in 2026 then citizens should cast a write in vote to register a vote against the big money candidates on the ballot and to create and demonstrate demand for small donor candidates in 2028.

Just 10% of voters doing this in 2026 will inspire more citizens to participate in 2028 and some candidates to run small donor campaigns in 2028 to get those votes.

This will inspire more citizens and candidates to participate in 2030 and 2032 making major progress much faster than waiting another 10, 20 or 50 years for the big money legislators to do what they have already told us and proven they will not do.

For over 10 years Ralph has refused to spend one small hour discussing this strategy that requires no legislation and just keeps doubling down on the failed approach offered by people like Mark Green.

Ralph has said that politicians want our votes more than big money which is a basic principle of democracy.

It is one thing to say it but it is just empty rhetoric if Ralph does not take the opportunity to put it into practice.

Forget all the People's Lobby and constitutional amendments that will accomplish nothing and tell Ralph you want him to live up to his statement on politicians wanting our votes more than big money by leading this strategy to declare independence from the big money interests, politicians and media that are America's number one enemy.

This is one demand that 80 % of citizens agree on (wanting the big money out of politics) and comes with a simple to understand slogan:

TAKE BIG MONEY-LOSE OUR VOTES!

We can and should use democracy to save democracy.
