Ralph welcomes Jeff Cohen from the activist group “Roots Action,” whose “Step Aside Joe” campaign was years ahead of the curve urging Joe Biden – for many reasons – to keep his promise to be a one-term president.
Consider presidential history. It has always supported the maintenance and expansion of the US Empire. Why would you imagine for a single second that Kamala would behave differently? Joe was/is a puppet. He supports Israel because his is told to. He quit because he was told to. Kamala will continue to be obedient. This is how oligarchies behave.
I'm hopeful with Kamala Harris running, despite all the slime and rancor she's getting from the "right". Her husband calls himself a "zionist" which is a concern.
I got this from Senator Blumenthal this week on Biden:
"Thank you for your message regarding President Biden. I appreciate hearing from you.
"On July 21, President Biden announced his decision to not accept the Democratic nomination for the 2024 presidential election. Joe Biden is one of the greatest, most consequential presidents in American history. He was the compassionate, courageous leader our country desperately needed during a time of crisis. Over the last four years, he has overseen the passage of immensely impactful laws that will benefit generations of Americans. Joe is a smart, strategic fighter who always looks out for the little guy. I am incredibly grateful for his lifetime of service and his unwavering, steadfast commitment to the future of our nation.
"Thank you again for your message. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or concerns."
Though Blumenthal is a gentleman, he needs to step down himself to make room for new leadership.
Lord Almighty!
Genocide Joe is one of our greatest presidents?
The guy who is directly responsible for the gruesome deaths of over 20,000 Gazan children with our bombs?
A guy who has brought the world to the brink of nuclear war by one insane escalation after another against Russia, the world largest nuclear power?
The guy who sacrificed hundreds of thousands of innocent Ukrainian lives for his imperialist proxy war?
The guy who has exploded the military budget to record amounts at the expense of our social programs?
A guy who never has negotiated a peace treaty in his life?
That's one of our greatest presidents?
Not only that but under his watch:
millions were taken off the Medicaid rolls without him doing anything about it,
millions of children slipped into poverty when he let the child tax credit slip,
railroad workers on strike were screwed by him,
people in East Palestine were poisoned and Joe never bothered to go there for over a year and never really helped them,
not once during his presidency was the minimum wage raised even by one penny,
the negotiated Pharma prices are a joke,
nothing has been done about the homeless under him,
immigrants poured uncontrolled by the millions across our Southern border,
rents exploded during his term impoverishing tens of millions of Americans,
he allowed corporations to scam and gouge the American public with outrageous price increases,
this resulted in the greatest profits ever for US corporations,
no corporate criminals like the Boeing CEO went to jail,
he kept Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy and for corporations,
the gap between the rich and the middle class became the widest in US history,
the American Dream for most people died because of him,
young people have no chance for a better life anymore because of him,
he destroyed the NordStream pipelines - the greatest act of industrial sabotage in history,
he destroyed the economies of Europe by blowing up the pipelines,
he pushed Russia and China into each others arms both economically and militarily,
he expanded NATO in preparation for World War 3 against Russia,
he neglected to renew the Petrodollar which effectively will destroy the US dollar as the world's reserve currency,
the national debt which he helped to explode both as vice-president and president is now impossible to pay off and will within a decade destroy our entire economy,
because of him, Trump, Obama and Bush Jr., the national debt is increasing by $1 trillion every 100 days and soon it will increase by $1 trillion every 90 days,
big money still controls him and his party -
the list goes on and on.
Let's not forget how as a Senator he screwed black people with his crime bill.
Let's not forget how he screwed black people by opposing school busing.
Let's not forget how he screwed the American credit card holder by supporting the credit card companies.
Let's not forget how Joe Biden has lied and lied and lied and lied all throughout his life.
Joe Biden has been a plague on this nation.
All that, in the opinion of Blumenthal, makes Biden a great man. That's nuts.
Joe Biden was, has been, is and will always be a jackass.
The Democratic Party is filled with apparatchiks. It's a party of 1984 mentality and servitude.
Blumenthal is a disgrace for being such a willing toadie of it.
Expecting Kamal to act against AIPAC and MIC is delusion.
Would the uncommitted vote for Trump or refrain from voting?
No difference can be expected even if all the courageous people in solidarity with Palestinians vote for Kamala.
US cannot maintain hegemony without unconditional support for Israel. Talking about 2-state is also delusionary.
The sad story here is that Kamala being identified with Blacks. She comes from the highest-ranking of India's four castes. (Indian) Brahmins, to use candid language are historically like Jews in all facets of society. They continue to dominate not only the Indian society but where ever they immigrate to. Indian American have long replaced American Jews as the highest-earning ethnic group in the United States. 25% of Indian-Americans are Brahmin, who comprise less than 5% of people back at home. Guardian 26 Jul 2024.
I am skeptical that the democratic party will ever upset any big donors. They could tell the donors that they will do what the people ant but then they whole party would lose their support. It is clear they don't care. They could promise the donors all that they want, and then do only what helps the people. They lie to us all the time, broken promises are expected. But they never break their promise to the big donors so I have no hope that anything will change
Regarding your informative episode re: Prop 103. There’s a current uproar in Oregon over coverage and rates. One major problem is that folks who chose to build ritzy homes in the woods are not prone to voluntarily do the work or pay to reduce the hazards they bought into! They want coverage even though they are negligent in this regard. The “fire hazard map” remains virtually the same after landowner protests demanded a revision. Landowners bought into the problem but want all taxpayers to cover their butts
I won N.J. high school math contest sponsored by Prudential Insurance back in 1957. Was actuarial trainee for two summers. Found it stifling. Had a summer at John Hancock and 6 months at Pacific life. Then on to computer consulting.
When Prop 103 appeared I was excited enough to contribute $500 (older more valuable dollars). When the committee asked for another contribution several years later to beat back a challenge, I contributed another $500.
Money well spent as that $1000 has probably saved me $10,000.
I would add one thing to Jeff Cohen's comments. The Democratic National Committee, many of the party leaders and too many representatives have failed the US middle class, working people, the poor, and this nation.
We are painfully aware that republicans continue to control many state houses and higher echelons of state government, even though democratic voters in many instances outnumber republican voters. The republicans have for decades concentrated building their control of states while the democratic response was, in many cases, ineffective or absent. Republicans employ effective strategies and push forward their agenda. Republicans control the national agenda.
It is time for decisive actions to save our democracy, which cannot occur without a focused and coordinated effort to lead the way.
The essential component for this to occur is registering voters in every state and organizing citizens in congressional districts, states and nationwide to engage and demand from elected officials what is important to citizens, their families, communities, and the nation.
Though this nation has many problems, most problems have solutions. If we wait for the DC Beltway politicians, media, think tanks, or so called experts and billionaire funded lobbyist and influencers, not only will nothing be done, but the nation will continue to decline.
In the May/June issue of the Capitol Hill Citizen Ralph has an article that offers such an initiative- the Buy Back Congress Cooperative. The article ends with Ralph suggesting we start with a national poll.
I suggest that we start with Ralph sending an email to everyone on his mailing list that includes a copy of his article. This email should also include my letter to the editor about my version of the Buy Back Congress Cooperative and a link a site where people can register which version people prefer.
I am posting my letter to the editor here as it would not appear (if it is published) until the Sept/Oct issue and it needs to start now to be effective in 2024 and 2026.
"Ralph was right that the solution to the destructive influence of big money corrupting our political process can best be solved by people forming a citizen's cooperative to buy back our Congress. He was spot on that in order to receive money the politicians must commit only to take money under the restrictions of the cooperative.
But the Buy back Congress Cooperative he envisions in his article in the May/June issue has several major flaws that will severely hamper it's success.
Making politicians commit to not taking money form private donations and funneling money through the cooperative is not a good way to get small donations to the candidates. Also the cooperative taking big money contributions to as Ralph says to cover the 25 dollars in dues for the millions of Americans that may not be willing or able to contribute 25 dollars for the cooperative to distribute opens the door for big money to control the cooperative.
There is no incentive in Ralph's cooperative for politicians to take the cooperative's money until the cooperative has raised billions of dollars which could take many election cycles and we don't have that much time to solve the problem.
A better cooperative would be made up of citizens that demand small donor candidates (A candidate that only accepts contributions from individuals with no contributor giving more than 200 dollars in total contributions to the candidate per election) and enforce that demand with our votes in 2024.
By using our votes in 2024 to show we mean business we can provide a powerful incentive for the politicians to meet our demand that they run small donor campaigns in 2026 in order to get our votes that they did not get in 2024. As there will be few, if any small donor candidates on the ballot in 2024 we can provide the incentive without having to first raise billions of dollars over many years that Ralph's cooperative requires. And it gives citizens control over who gets their money instead of the cooperative.
Over 90% of congressional districts are gerrymandered so that we already knew the day after the 2022 elections which party would win the district in 2024. Very much like voting in Russia.
If you vote in 2024 for either major party candidate the district will be split around 60-40 for the gerrymandered party in 2024 just as it was for the several previous elections and will guarantee the same lack of choice and 60-40 split in 2026.
If you vote for a third party or independent candidate in 2024 it will make little difference in 2026 as most third party and independent candidates also take big money. What difference will it make if there are two, three or four candidates that take big money to choose from in 2026?
If you don't vote in 2024 it won;t change anything for 2026.
But if you cast a write in vote in 2024 to register a vote against the big money candidates on the ballot and create and demonstrate demand for small donor candidates in 2026 it provides the incentive for candidates to run small donor campaigns in 2026.
Just 10% national participation in 2024 could be enough to make an impact in 2026.
With 10% national participation in 2024 there will be some districts below that 10% average and some districts above the average at 12-15%.
If a district that has been 60-40 were to be 55-30 in 2024 with 15% casting a write in vote demanding small donor candidates in 2026 ii could inspire more citizens to participate in 2026 and that could inspire a candidate to run in the 2026 primaries as a small donor candidate.
The token big money candidate from the 40% party running in the primary can often get only 8-10% of the general election voters to vote for them in the primaries. A small donor candidate running for the nomination for the 40% party in the 2026 primary could win the nomination with 12-20% of general election voters participating in 2026 and this could make the general election a 50-50 election between a small donor candidate and a big money candidate. Even a few wins or close calls in these districts in 2026 would inspire more citizens and candidates to participate in more districts in 2028 and even inspire a small donor presidential candidate in 2028.
This would be much more progress than the cooperative Ralph envisions which will still be raising money in 2026 and 2028 and does not provide the incentive that our votes in 2024 would provide.
Power concedes nothing without a demand.
Ralph has said that politicians want our votes more than big money.
I'm surprised that Rep. Garamendi was mentioned in a positive light in this episode; he has been another political sellout to the insurance industry.
"In 1991, while serving as California Insurance Commissioner, Garamendi seized Executive Life, a failing life insurance company, and resold it to French investors who turned out to be fronts for a government-owned French bank. They made billions of dollars selling off the company's portfolio of junk bonds while the Californians with Executive Life policies were very negatively affected. This became a scandal in both the U.S. and France, with the U.S. government filing criminal charges, because it was illegal for a government-owned bank to own a U.S. insurer. Policyholders blamed Garamendi for putting them in this position.[25][26][27]
"Eventually the U.S. government reached a settlement with the French bankers, and in 2005 Garamendi agreed to a settlement, the terms of which further angered Executive Life policyholders, who, according to the Sacramento Bee, "had been damaged to the tune of perhaps $5 billion." A leader of the policyholders' interest group, Sue Watson, said, "We are shocked and outraged that the largest financial fraud in California history would be settled for so little and without even a fight." The Bee editorialized that "Garamendi cannot simultaneously assert that the sale was a good deal and a multibillion-dollar fraud, and then defend a cents-on-the-dollar settlement that left the buyers with billions of dollars in windfall profits. It just does not make sense."[28][29] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Garamendi
“We've made that point and we've organized around that point, Ralph, that if we cut the military budget, which has grown year after year under Joe Biden, And we took that money and spent it on health care and housing and education. Imagine what a society we would have if we uplifted working class people.” - Jeff Cohen
This statement from Jeff Cohen is nonsensical. Spending on healthcare, housing, and education does not necessarily require cuts to the military budget. It seems Cohen does not know that the US Dollar is a floating currency and spending is not restricted in that manner. The other discussions about ‘taxpayer money’ are pure comedy when I believe it is obvious even to those who do not follow politics that military spending is coming from deficit spending and, thus, not ‘taxpayer money’.
Any significant amount of military spending cuts are not politically viable without some kind of industrial and labor reform. There is little desire to increase unemployment. Increasing unemployment is not ‘uplifting working class people’. The way to decrease militarization on the industrial side is to nationalize the military industry and then right-size it while keeping everyone employed in the industry employed at their current location and with the same wages or higher wages. Excess labor not needed for legitimate military projects can work on infrastructure, environmental, and other industrial needs. As time goes on, national priorities can steer younger people into careers in healthcare and other areas of need.
The same job transition plan is true with healthcare reform. Labor policy must be one of just transitions and guaranteed full employment. The federal government can ensure such programs. It’ll require substantial government spending, but the ability to fund this is completely feasible.
The austerity positions advocated by the likes of Cohen only fuels the ‘they’re coming for our jobs’ narratives which fuels success for right-wingers...Republicans especially and also right-wing Democrats like Biden, Harris, and the others the Democratic Party likes to place into power without any respect for the democratic process of letting the people choose leaders and policy agendas.
And Harris-Emoff will buttress the Wailing Wall White House even if Zyklon Blinken and Himmler Yellen and Goebbels Kagan head on down the Zionist road.

Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis has written a letter to Sir Keir Starmer, expressing his concerns. This letter comes after Jewish groups condemned the government for not challenging the ICC arrest warrants for Netanyahu and his accomplices.
Mirvis is the rabbi who spouted off during the Corbyn years and threw around anti-Semitism accusations like confetti. He has spoken of the “poison” in the Labour Party, told the public to “vote with a conscience” for the Conservatives, and thanked “our heroes” in the IDF for their “outstanding performance”. He has argued the invasion of Gaza was necessary and described it as the most “outstanding thing possible”.
I want to know why religious figures are interfering in our politics in the first place. Why is the UK’s representative of Jews acting as a representative of Israel? Isn’t such a conflation anti-Semitic? The arrogant bastard has even demanded a meeting with the prime minister so he can give him his orders. The absolute nerve of these weirdos.
The chief rabbi is apparently furious Starmer has dropped the government’s legal challenge on behalf of genocidal monster Netanyahu, restored funding to Unrwa, and is about to restrict arms sales to Israel. Poor Starmer isn’t even acting on moral principle here! He’s just trying to stop the International Criminal Court coming for him next and he still can’t catch a break.
Continuing the exposure of the Dirty Dealing of the Century of the Jew. Nothing Ralph would write, but alas, we still can burn that star of little big man david and the stars and stripe we hope NEVER.
That's your slogan? You know Zionism is racist through and through. Based on Jewish Supremacy. So, you are broad brushing the entire religion then? Seems a bit harsh. But then all Zionists are racists. White, brown, black and so on.
Be careful with your Final Solution buddies. Rabid rodents. One and all.
Great show as always! Comment on the insurance segment - I think Harvey may be underestimating how much litigation is costing insurance companies and consumers. Especially with casualty and auto insurance. Maybe you all can do a show on these PE firms that are backing plaintiffs’ attorneys to keep increasing settlements? Not that insurance companies are saints but there’s now another leech ripping us off behind the scenes

Oh, so back to the Himmler Yellen take on things? And California? Something along the lines of Little Tel Aviv in Silicon Valley tied to Silcon Wadi.

Kkeptocracy and oligarchy and one based on theft from indigenous tribes and African slaves. In the end, Anglo Saxon Franco Iberian mutts are oxen for Jews. Rabbis telling Inbred United Queendom what is up or down..

RACIST CONSPIRACY MONGER

RACIST SCUM
That's your slogan? You know Zionism is racist through and through. Based on Jewish Supremacy. So, you are broad brushing the entire religion then? Seems a bit harsh. But then all Zionists are racists. White, brown, black and so on.
Be careful with your Final Solution buddies. Rabid rodents. One and all.
Thank you for leaving comments open.
I can reply to others' comments, but can't like them. What's up with that?
