Making Co-ops genuinely democratic for the long haul can be done! I have written a lot about the use of large member juries for setting policies, and hiring and firing management. This is known as "sortition." This lottery selection process was the basis of Athenian democracy, and is undergoing a rebirth around the world today. Here is a short article I wrote about how to make co-ops actually democratic.

Trump was made possible by our political system being controlled by big money.

So instead of continuing to allow the big money interests to own the politicians let's form a co-op so that we the consumers of politicians can be the owners of the politicians.

We can demand that the politicians run small donor campaigns and enforce that demand with our votes.

As Toby Heaps said you fund it you get it done.

Just 6-7% of the 150 million voters investing 100 dollars in contributions to small donor candidates in 2026 would total 1 billion dollars.

I have set up a website that can be updated in a few weeks for 2026 where citizens can register their demand for small donor candidates in 2026 and also pledge to make contributions to small donor candidates in 2026.

Ralph could help by encouraging citizens to make these pledges over the next few months, getting his 1% of voters to start the process with 100 dollar pledges which would total 150 million dollars and inspire the rest of the 6-7% to pledge and by getting many of the groups and people he has had on his program to mobilize their supporters to participate.

This will also inspire many candidates to run as small donor candidates against the big money candidates in the primaries.

So please Ralph, let's provide the funding and the demand and get it done before we are done for.

A couple of bs artists.

Clean energy? It is known for years that the newer, modular nuclear plants are the only hope for the future. The China syndrome doesn't exist with these newer designs and smaller size. Demand for fossil fuels will almost disappear. These people want to steer money toward their inefficient alternatives. Kind of like arguing "windmills" as the future, which is ridiculous.

We have done numerous programs on this fallacy of nuclear power being the answer. Search for "nuclear" on our search box and those programs will come up. Trust me, we've heard it all.

Thanks for a very interesting discussion about co-operatives. .I have heard an entirely different presentation about co-operatives that might interest you. They are co-ops, not of consumers who own shares in a business, but of any people who join together to own and operatate their own business.

This is a very different kind of business. Each person in the co-op is functioning as an employee/worker and as an employer/owner. All management decisions are made democratically by everyone in the co-op - one person, one vote.

It can immediately be seen that conflict between employees and employers cannot exist in this business arrangement, since both functions are performed by the same person. This eliminates the need for labor unions to protect labor from management in this sector of the economy.

The history of labor-management struggles is a bloody one, and solidarity has been needed to fight hard for a decent life. In this business model, that conflict disappears.

I think this is a big deal. Workers could become their own employers in this business model. Government grants, and loans, and training could help people start a co-op.

Co-ops have an interest in community involvement because it is where they work and make their home. Co-ops could be developed under Charter with environmental and civic responsibilities in their communities.

Mr. Nader I heard this quate the other day and I knew that was my sign to contact you! People need a shoulder to lean on, but without trust how is that possible? Maybe the way we debate? It's time to Inspire hope not despair into, Love conquers All! Bartow County Ga., needs a lot of shoulders to cry on. Some of us refuse to "ride up Troy's bucket") (Proud to be a Goonie) The greatest threat I see with the most lasting damage has to do with Specialization, More specifically, LANGUAGE!!! We have got to get kids studing Civics, Cultures, and omg Geography, at least make more people aware of the "Specialization" when written in law, policies, you know, Of course you do, you're Ralph Nader. I believe if somehow you, Chris Hedges, David Cay Johnston, Tristan Harris Aza Raskin(Center For Humane Technology) I know people would start paying more attention to the actual words that are coming out of these polticians mouths these days! I'm only one person, And I feel I'm not getting anywhere. The amount of people on somedorm of Supervision in Ga. is staggering, In Bartow County, it does't even make sense! in the past 45 years the incartion rate has increased 1,400%. 1 in 25 adult residents are on some type of "probation", our blotter is always 2 pages with same ol same ol, probation violation. I read a story in The Current that was talking about thousands if drug tests being mishandled, and not reliabe. Never saw it in the paper, that You can only get if you buy at store, No one even has an opportunity to find out anymore it seems.
